Here we go again!
To the editor:
After much thought, time, energy, expectation and hard work our downtown started to look very pristine and people started shopping and eating downtown again.
Well, what a summer some of the merchants on Main St. must have experienced. Not only the merchants had to contend with the dust, detours and disasters created by construction, but also people passing through Presque Isle must have missed all the hard work that went into making our storefronts and shops appealing. One thing for sure, our traffic should slow down for all the new speed bumps placed along downtown Main St.
I encourage all people who travel Main St. to more than just buckle up. Please give that belt just a little extra pull so you don’t get bounced from one’s driving position while admiring our Main St. When snow falls please give our plows time to clear all speed bumps and any short places in-between.
Please drive slow and enjoy the winter season before Main St. hits another disaster.
