PELLETIER, Ruth H., 87, FORT FAIRFIELD and WESTFIELD, at Presque Isle, November 2, 2014. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday, November 7, from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
FORT FAIRFIELD & WESTFIELD – Ruth H. Pelletier, 87, wife of the late John R. Pelletier, passed away Sunday evening, November 2, 2014, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born August 19, 1927, in Andover, New Brunswick, the daughter of Elmer and Eva (Miller) Kennedy.
She attended local schools and had been employed by several area businesses, including the Plymouth Hotel, Fort Fairfield as a bartender, Russell’s Restaurant, Fort Fairfield as a waitress, the Fort Fairfield Community General Hospital, as well as the A & P and Interstate Foods, Fort Fairfield. Ruth had been a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield for many years and was married to John R. Pelletier on December 18, 1965. She had been a resident of Southern Acres in Westfield for the past 12 years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a hard worker who loved to knit and crochet.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, John, on July 17, 2005; one daughter, Shirley Hanscom Withington, on October 2, 2014; five brothers, Kenneth, Delmar, Hughy, Vaughn and Stanley Kennedy; five sisters, Margaret Nye, Inez Nicholson, Velma Shannon, Helen Theriault and Vera Boulier. She is survived by two sons, Philip Hanscom of Yaleville, CT, Daniel Hanscom of Boca Raton, FL; two daughters, Bonnie Hanscom Walker of Mapleton, Ruthena Lambert and her husband, Edward, of Freedom, PA; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday November 7, 2014 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Interment will follow at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, after the interment.
