The Atoms hockey team continued their winning ways over the last two weekends, posting an incredible seven wins including five in a tournament across the border in Woodstock, N.B.
Over the weekend, the team posted two high scoring wins against Perth Andover and Carleton II.
Saturday, the team took a 7-0 decision over Perth Andover. Tyler Seeley led the way with four and Abraham Azab, Colin McKay and Ryder Soucy each added one. Assists came from McKay with two and Seeley, Azab, Austin Albert, Alex Michaud, Joseph Patenaude and Mikey Michaud with one each. Aaron Kofstad played strong in net.
On Sunday, Soucy notched two goals to lead the team to a 6-2 win. Patenaude, Mikey Michaud, McKay and Seeley each added one. Assists came from Alex Michaud with two and Soucy with one. Jillian Flynn took net duties.
Over the previous holiday weekend, the team traveled to Woodstock and came back with another championship banner. The team outscored their opponents 38-7 and allowed only 44 shots.
In game one, the team faced off against Carleton II in an 8-3 win. Leading the way was Seeley and McKay with two goals each. Albert, Alex Michaud, Patenaude and Mikey Michaud tallied goals as well. Assists came from Alex Michaud with three, Seeley with two and Albert, Patenaude and Mikey Michaud with one each.
Flynn faced 20 shots in net.
In a 5-1 win over Carleton 1, Seeley and Patenaude scored two goals each to led the Atoms and Alex Michaud added one. Assists came from Alex Michaud, Albert, Soucy and Patrick Burnett with one each. Flynn again stood tough between the pipes.
The Atoms blanked Woodstock II in game three with an 8-0 win. Goals came from McKay with three, Mikey Michaud and Soucy with two each and Alex Michaud with one. Notching assists were Albert with three, Soucy with two and Azab, McKay, Patenaude and Mickey Michaud with one each.
Aaron Kofstad provided goal-tending duties.
The Atoms advanced to the championship round with a 9-1 win over Moncton. Leading the team in scoring was Seeley with three, McKay and Patenaude with two each and Mikey Michaud and Soucy with one each. Assists came from Soucy with three and Patenaude, Seeley, Mikey Michaud, McKay, Albert and Alex Michaud with one each.
Flynn played in the net.
The Atoms found themselves again largely uncontested in the championship round as they took an 8-2 win over Fredricton. Scoring for the Wildcats was Seeley with three, Patenaude with two and Alex Michaud and Colin Mckay with one each. Assists came from Alex Michaud, Seeley, Albert and Soucy with two each and Mikey Michaud with one.
