    HANKS, Charles D. “Chuck”, 55, MAPLETON, at Ashland, November 11, 2014. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    MAPLETON – Charles D. “Chuck” Hanks, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, 2014, at work in Ashland. He was born at Loring Air Force Base on July 21, 1959, the son of Guy D. and Barbara (Mullen) Hanks.  American Flag Color
    He served in the U.S. Air Force. Chuck was unique in many ways. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his granddaughter, a very precious time. He loved every single one of the kids as we watched you all grow up. His friends were for life, no matter how far away they were. He had a soft heart for anyone that was worse off than himself. Chuck had worked for Levesque Lumber, Naturally Potatoes, and currently working for NEI Mechanical/Electrical as an electrician.
    He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judith (Summerfield) Hanks; a son, Daniel Hanks, of Presque Isle; a daughter, Kirstie and her fiancé, Mike Sullivan, of Ashland; a very special granddaughter, Lilly; his first grandson who is due to be born in December; his parents of Westfield; two brothers, Alvin (Doug) Hanks of Portland, and Guy Hanks Jr. of South Berwick; six sisters: Lois Lunn and her husband, Bran of Sabattus, Terri Raymond and her husband, Alan of Chapman, Shelley Hanks of Long Beach, CA, Linda Smiley and her husband, Mark of Vancleve, MS, Robin Larosa and her husband, Jon of Ruskin, FL, and Julie Rae of Neosho, MO; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
    Relatives and friends called noon until 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m., with Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Interment with military honors were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
