Ethel M. Roderick

     RODERICK, Ethel M., 74, PRESQUE ISLE, November 16, 2014. There will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Ethel M. Roderick, 74, passed away November 16, 2014, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born in Presque Isle on Sept. 8, 1940, the daughter of Davis and Priscilla (Young) Shaw.
    She attended schools in Presque Isle and was chosen Miss Presque Isle, class of 1959. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Curtis “Pete” Roderick and they were very happily married for 54 years.
    Ethel and Pete operated North East Telephone Answering Service for more than 38 years before retiring in 2008. During this time, they made many long lasting friends and acquaintances, while being responsible for operation of many local businesses, both during and after normal business hours.
    In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Harry Shaw.
    Ethel is survived by her husband, Curtis “Pete” Roderick; her son, Greg, and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Bailey and Riley, all of Presque Isle; her son, Peter Roderick, and his wife, Catherine, of Woodbridge, VA, and their children, Alyssa and Blake of Florida.
