LAVEWAY, Bernice Nadeau, 98, PRESQUE ISLE, at Eagle Lake, November 29, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Bernice Nadeau Laveway, 98, passed away November 29, 2014, at Mercy Home in Eagle Lake surrounded by family. She was born on November 13, 1916, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Alfred and Alexina (Dube/Dubay) Nadeau.
She attended normal school, graduated and went to nursing school. She married Milton Laveway and they spent many weekends in the woods building a “base camp” at St. Froid Lake. She loved to hunt, fish and canoe, and in later years, enjoyed being an artist.
She is survived by her brother, Alton Nadeau of Bucksport; a sister, Teresa Daigle of Alexandria, MN; and many nieces and nephews spread across the country.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by brothers: Alyre, Herman, Docite, Frederick, Mildrick and John Nadeau; and sisters: Palmyre Charron, Marie Nadeau, Laurie Ann Ricard and Geneva Pelletier.
Friends and family called 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood with Rev. Kyle Doustou, Celebrant. Interment will be held in the spring. A reception will follow the mass at the K of C Hall.
