The third- and fourth-grade Little Bears basketball team will be starting practices a little earlier this year in order to participate in a round robin over Christmas recess.
The athletes’ next practice will be Tuesday, Dec. 23 at the Elementary School Gym until 4 p.m. On Friday, Jan. 2, the team will participate in a round robin in Mars Hill. Please register with the rec department.
Kiwanis Club
The Kiwanis Club of Easton meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. Dinner is provided for a small fee. Please plan to join them.
Christmas vacation activities
Tuesday, Dec. 23 — Holiday Movie at the Braden Theatre in Presque Isle. The cost is $5; includes ticket, popcorn and soda. Time for the movie: noon-2:45 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 26 — Bowling and Pizza Hut. Bowling first at Northern Lanes and then lunch at Pizza Hut buffet. The fee is $12 for bowling and buffet if 12 and under; $15 or those 13 and over. 9:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 29 — “Mat Ball” Tournament; this is a game that was created by a PE teacher and looks like a lot of fun! The tournament will be held at Van Buren High School. The bus departs at 9 a.m. sharp. Open to grades 4-6. Please pre-register so we know we have enough to participate.
Tuesday, Dec. 30 — A morning of jumping at The Jump. The cost is $10; this includes admission, pizza, chips and Slushie. The bus will depart at 9:40 a.m. and return at 12:15 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 31 — Roller-skating at the Melody Roller Rink in Caribou. The cost is $5 for skating and rentals. 9:40 a.m.-1:10 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 17 — Junior Activities from 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Hall. “Gifts from the Heart” gift making for group A (pre-registration was required) at the Hall until 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 18 — “Gifts from the Heart” gift making for group B (pre-registration was required) at the Hall until 4:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 19 — Junior Activities from 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Hall. Senior Movie Day in the Recreation Room at the Manor starting at 11:15 a.m. Lunch will be provided for $3. Little Bear cheerleading practice at the Hall after school until 4 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 22 — Senior Christmas Fondue Party at the Manor starting at 11 a.m. The cost is $5. This is one of our favorite events of the year, so please join us! After-school cooking (Christmas treats) at the Hall until 4:15 p.m. Open to grades 1 and up.
Tuesday, Dec. 23 — Senior Christmas Breakfast starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor. Free. Please bring a small gift for the Yankee Swap. Field trip for a Christmas Movie to the Braden Theatre from noon-2:45 p.m. (this is an early-release day). The bus will return to the Hall. Little Bears third- and fourth-grade basketball practice from 3-4 p.m.
