    JACKSON, Doris E. Fletcher, 74, OLD TOWN, at Bangor, December 17, 2014. Graveside services will be held in Mars Hill in the Spring. Arrangements are under the care of Brookings Smith Funeral Home, Bangor. 

    OLD TOWN – Doris E. Fletcher Jackson, 74, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 12, 1940, in Mars Hill, the daughter of William P. and Hope E. (Kinney) Miller.
    Doris loved reading books, traveling and enjoying her family and close friends. She also enjoyed her job at the University Book Store and working at the post office there.
    Doris is survived by daughter, Diana McKay and husband, Scott, and their children, Joshua McKay and significant other, Jamie Avery Bouchard, and children, Stella McKay and Ian Bouchard, and Jessica O’Dowd and husband, Will; daughter, Denise Sullivan and  husband, Gary and their children, Danielle Shepard and husband, Jeff, and children, Wyatt and Aidan, Greg Sullivan and wife, Rachel, and children, Kelsey and Tyler, Chelsea Sullivan, and Lea Kartias Gressier, an exchange student from Iceland who was like a granddaughter; and significant other, Oli Ben Olafsson and child, Nikulas; and son, Brent Fletcher and wife, Amy and their children, Shayne and Tiannah; late son, Allen’s daughters Kaelee and Tori; a brother, Dale Miller and wife, Janice; and a sister, Carolyn Stickney; step-brother, Wayne Lunn and wife, Patti; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be especially missed by her cat, Katrina.
    In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by two husbands, Daniel A. Fletcher in 1975, and Wayne F. Jackson in 2006; a son, Allen H. Fletcher in 2002; sister-in-law, Joyce Fletcher; and special lifelong friend, Ellen Shorey.
    Special thanks to Palliative Care and the entire staff at EMMC for their love and compassion for our Mom.
