Rep. Saucier returns to panels on veterans,
agriculture issues
AUGUSTA, Maine — State Rep. Robert Saucier (D-Presque Isle) has been reappointed to serve on the Legislature’s Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee and the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee.
“Having served 24 years in the National Guard and being a resident of northern Maine, I am excited to once again be serving on these policy committees,” said Saucier. “The work we do in both committees helps veterans and farmers across Maine.”
The Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee oversees policy regarding liquor laws, lottery, off-track betting, election laws, governmental ethics, the Department of Defense and the Maine National Guard and veterans’ issues.
The Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee oversees agriculture policy relating to food safety, inspection and labeling, the dairy industry, pesticide regulation and farmland preservation. The committee also oversees policy regarding state parks, historic sites, public lands and the Land for Maine’s Future Program.
“I want to thank my constituents for again giving me the honor of representing them in the Maine House to do this important work,” said Saucier. “I will continue to work hard for my constituents and Aroostook County.”
Saucier is serving his second term in the Maine House and represents part of Presque Isle.
