    PRESQUE ISLE — The Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce is working on a new initiative to recognize local businesses who provide quality customer service.

    “Businesses in central Aroostook County have a reputation for great customer service. To honor their efforts, the CACC is launching a ‘Customer Service Recognition Award’ to celebrate our outstanding businesses and their employees,” said Lyn Frederick, executive assistant at the CACC.
    Each month, patrons can nominate restaurants, stores and local businesses for the award, based on the following criteria:
• The staff was friendly and efficient;
• The staff was helpful and polite;
• The staff exceeded expectations; and
• Service was timely and staff was knowledgeable.
    The nominations can be called in to the Chamber at 764-6561 or emailed to lfrederick@centralaroostookchamber.com. They can also be posted to the CACC Facebook page or sent vial U.S. Postal Service to: Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce, 3 Houlton Rd., Presque Isle, ME 04769.
    The Chamber will review all nominations, which will be due no later than the 25th of each month, and make a public announcement of the winner at the end of each month.
    “This is an effort to encourage people to patronize businesses in our community and to recognize those businesses who go out of their way to make the customers their first priority,” said Theresa Fowler, CACC executive director.
