MAPLETON NEWS
by Jennifer Buzza
The holiday season wrapped up in Mapleton earlier this month as the Mapleton Lions Club took down the Christmas lights along Main Street.
The Mapleton Lions Club has been hanging the Christmas lights through the town for more than 20 years. While it can be windy and chilly hanging them at Thanksgiving and taking them down after New Year’s Day, according to Club member Terry Sandusky, “The Club members enjoy bringing this bit of Christmas joy to the town.”
The lighting crew taking down the decorations included Lions Dennis Hoffses, Matt Gregg, Jon Frederick, Steve Hanning, Tim Graham and Frank Richards.
Plans are already being made for the 2015 Christmas season.
To end 2014, a benefit dance was held at the Mapleton Lions Hall on behalf of Jeff Clark. Clark has done many things for people and organizations in the area. A benefit dinner and auction was also held Saturday to further assist Clark and his family.
Birthdays
Happy birthday wishes this week to Darin Wardwell, John Easler, Lorie Hoffses, Bob Lewandowski, Anne Braley, Bill Hay, Carrlyn Buck and Erin Argraves.
