PRESQUE ISLE – Raynold Legassie Sr., 89, went to be with his Lord on January 21, 2015, at a Presque Health care facility. Raynold, known to all as Ray, was born in Sheridan on February 7, 1925, the son of Stuart and Sophie (Baker) Legassie.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 on a refueler ship. After his tour was completed, he returned to Sheridan and met his future wife. He worked for Pepsi Cola, then for Sunbeam Bread which became Country Kitchen Bread, where he stayed and retired from.
After retiring, he remained active in the community. He could sell anything, loved the forum’s trash and treasure sale.
His life was filled with adventure, traveling, fishing, hunting, camping and yard sales. He loved his family and would do anything for them. Ray had a great sense of humor and loved to tease his grandchildren. He would always go the extra mile to help someone in need. With this being said, he truly will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
