Man found guilty
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A local man will be spending the next seven years behind bars, after being found guilty last week of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced Jan. 12 that Wayne E. Boulier, Jr., 34, of Presque Isle, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor by Chief Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr., to seven years in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. On Feb. 24, 2014, Boulier pleaded guilty to the charge.
Court records revealed that on the evening of April 6, 2013, Boulier (the defendant) went to Bou’s Brew Pub, a bar located on Main Street in Presque Isle at the time. A bouncer at the pub approached Boulier and told him he needed to leave, then escorted him to the door. As Boulier fell onto the sidewalk outside, he pulled up his shirt and pulled out a loaded pistol. A bar patron and a second bouncer restrained Boulier and took the pistol from him. Boulier was prohibited from possessing firearms because he had 12 prior state felony convictions.
Boulier was arrested by Sgt. Eric Erickson of the Presque Isle Police Department, with the assistance of Cpl. Wayne Selfridge of the PIPD and Maine State Police Troopers Rob Flynn and Nick Casavant. Assisting the PIPD with the investigation were the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Maine State Police.
