PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A former Presque Isle man has been charged as a sex offender, following an investigation by the Presque Isle Police Department.

“On Monday, Feb. 9, Kyle Green, 33, of 48 Cleveland St., Saco — formerly of Presque Isle and currently residing in Saco — was arrested by Det. Bill Scull of the PIPD, with the assistance of officers from the Saco Police Department,” said Chief Matt Irwin, of the PIPD.
Irwin said an investigation was initiated upon allegations that Green had engaged in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl while visiting Presque Isle.
“The ensuing investigation revealed numerous electronic communications which aided in corroborating the victim’s allegations. Green was charged with four counts of sexual abuse of a minor, all class C felonies, that occurred in Presque Isle during 2014,” Irwin said.
Green’s bail was set at $2,500 cash or $10,000 surety. He did not post bail and will be transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton. His first court appearance will be Friday, Feb. 13.
Irwin said his department is uncertain if there may be other victims.
“Currently, the PIPD has no other information or reason to believe there may be additional victims. However, cases involving people who travel to meet children for sexual encounters oftentimes have multiple victims. If anyone believes they are or know a victim of a sex crime, please contact your local law enforcement agency having jurisdiction,” said Irwin.
