Sears customers who were told they could continue to shop online once the Aroostook Centre Mall store in Presque Isle closed, but were concerned about how they’d get their products, will now have a local delivery option available to them.
A post on the Facebook page of the Sears Hometown Store, located in Fort Kent, announced Feb. 3, “Breaking news — delivery service is back for Aroostook County.”
The announcement went on to note that “back in October 2014 when the Sears full-line store at the Presque Isle mall announced they were closing, some of you may have noticed Sears.com was no longer offering delivery service.” Items like appliances, tractors and fitness equipment were only available as “free pickup in store” for Aroostook County.
As a result, the owner of the Fort Kent store decided to step up to the plate and help Sears customers in The County.
“I am happy to announce that this service is once again available for orders placed online through Sears.com. The delivery team based out of the Fort Kent Hometown Store is now responsible for delivering merchandise to any location from Millinocket all the way to Escort Station. Over 6,000 square miles of territory will be served by the Fort Kent delivery team,” wrote owner and operator Alan Susee. “The team is excited to take on this huge task and extend their expert service to all of Aroostook County and beyond.”
Independently owned and operated, the Fort Kent store is located at 204 West Main St. For more information call 834-2320.
Susee also indicated there are three technicians serving Sears customers in Aroostook County. For service information, call 800-424-2047.
