    ADAMS, Edmond J., 66, FORT FAIRFIELD, February 18, 2015. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Arrangements are under the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.

    FORT FAIRFIELD – Edmond J. Adams, 66, husband of Anita L. (Shaw) Adams, passed away Wednesday evening, February 18, 2015, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility, following an extended illness. He was born February 11, 1949, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Harold F. Sr. and Muriel C. (Plant) Adams.
    Ed was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, class of 1969, and while attending high school, he excelled at several sports, including track and field, baseball and basketball. His love for sports lasted throughout his lifetime, and as an adult, he participated in softball leagues in Fort Fairfield, Presque Isle and Caribou, attending many tournaments over the years statewide, and also enjoyed bowling. Ed was the third generation owner and operator of Adams Sanitation, proudly serving the Fort Fairfield area for over 40 years. Mr. Adams was married to Anita L. Shaw on June 28, 1974 and was a lifelong member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield. He was a Master Mason at Trinity Masonic Lodge Number 130, Presque Isle, a member of the Anah Temple Shrine, the Aroostook Shrine Club, and held the distinction of being a 32 degree Freemason, affiliated with the Scottish Rite, Northern Maine Jurisdiction, Valley of Portland and Bangor.
    In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by two brothers, Cecil Adams and Philip Adams. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Anita Adams of Fort Fairfield; five brothers, Harold F. Adams Jr. and his wife, Rita, of Caribou, Wayne Adams and his wife, Fern, of South Meriden, CT, Jerre Adams and his wife, Ellen, of New Haven, CT, Michael Adams and his wife, Karen, of Derry, NH, and Scott Adams of Fort Fairfield. He also leaves behind several in-laws, including Linda Shaw of Presque Isle, Carleen and Richard Dow of Orlando, FL, Brenda and James Chasse of Presque Isle; special friends, Ritchie Williams and Billy Barker, both of Fort Fairfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Friends called Sunday February 22, 2015, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a evening Masonic Memorial Service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the officers of Trinity Masonic Lodge Number 130, Presque Isle. The funeral service was conducted Monday, February 23, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Kinsey officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, immediately following the service. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
