MAPLETON – Hilaire “Larry” Boucher, 78, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015, surrounded by loving family members at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born on April 18, 1936, in St. Rose, Quebec, the son of Liguori and Maria (Lavoie) Boucher.
He was born and raised Catholic, a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in Presque Isle.
Larry worked as a truck driver, hauling logs and also delivering trucks for Whited Ford with Doug Clark in his later years. Every morning Larry spent time with his brothers drinking coffee.
Larry was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Regis “Babe” Boucher; and his sister-in-law, Damey Boucher.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Louise Laforest Boucher; his devoted daughter, Lisa and husband, George, Dean; two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Tyler and Lilly; two sisters and their husbands, Marcelle and Ben Michaud of Mapleton, and Geraldine and Gerald Cyr of East Granby, Conn.; five brothers, Leo and wife, Janine; Claude; Rino and wife, Flora, all of Mapleton; and Regent and Andrea of Shingleton, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass was celebrated Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 10 a.m., from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle, with Fr. Kyle Doustou, officiating. A reception followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
