HANCOCK, Alan A., 80, PRESQUE ISLE, February 17, 2015. Spring interment with military honors will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Alan A. Hancock, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday night, February 17, 2015, at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born on September 15, 1934, in Berlin, NH, the son of Lewis and Arline (Hamlin) Hancock.
He served four years in the US Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class. He worked several years as a long haul truck driver, than as a traffic manager at Aroostook Beverage in Presque Isle. Alan was a faithful and devoted music listener at Camper’s Paradise in Westfield. He had a great fondness for dogs, and every dog he met liked him.
He is survived by his wife, Jackolyn “Jackie” (Pelletier) Hancock of Presque Isle, three sons and their wives; Michael Lewis and Barbara of Huntingdon Valley, PA, Robert Alan and Holly of Limestone, Timothy Scott and Lynn of Skowhegan, two daughters and their husbands; Penny Sue and Curtis Ballard of Fryeburg, Jennifer Jo and Michael Tubber of Old Town, a sister Mary Hews of Ashland, eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating. Friends called at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Spring interment with military honors will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
