    LAMONT, Clara A. (Rideout), 78, MAPLETON, at Mars Hill, February 24, 2015. Interment will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    MAPLETON – Clara A (Rideout) Lamont, 78, passed away on February 24, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. Clara was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Carlow, NB, the Daughter of William and Vera (Foster) Rideout.
    Clara dearly loved her family and was dearly loved by them. She worked many different jobs during her life but her most rewarding was as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was multitalented; a cook, seamstress, published poet, gardener, bird watcher, and in her 70’s, learned to play the 5 string banjo by Skype. Clara was involved with the Brain Injury Association of Maine and has spent the last 12 years involved with the Acquired Brain Injury Advisory Council DHHS, Maine.
    She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Lewis F. Lamont of Mapleton; son, Peter and his wife, Carrie Lamont, of Dayton; daughters, Kathy and her husband, Walter Scott, and Cindy and her husband, Edwin Johnson, of Mapleton; son, David Lamont of Portland. Clara is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda and Jessica Scott, and Joseph and Jason Johnson; siblings, Archie Rideout of McAdam, NB, Douglas Rideout of Carlow, NB, Alice Rideout and her husband, Fred Wilcox, of Keremies, BC, Betty and husband, Gil Violette, of Perth Andover, NB, William Rideout and wife, Ruth, of London, Ontario, Ivan and wife, Nancy Rideout, of Jewette Corner, NB, Rev. Jasper Rideout of Grand Manan, NB, Harvey Rideout of New Bridge, NB, Alonzo and wife, and Gwen Rideout, of New Bridge, NB; sisters-in-law, Diana Rideout and Sheila Rideout; brothers-in-law, Gary Lamont and partner, Jennifer Green, Brian and wife, Debbie Lamont, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Clara was predeceased by her parents, William and Vera Rideout; grandson, Shawn Morin; brothers, Allen Rideout and Steven Rideout.
    The family would like to extend special thanks to those who cared for Clara at TAMC and Aroostook Health Center.
    A Catholic Mass was held 11 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Main St., Presque Isle, with Father LaBrie, officiating. Interment will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clara’s memory to Aroostook Health Center, PO Box 410, Mars Hill, ME 04758.
