    DOVER-FOXCROFT & PRESQUE ISLE – Alice Mae Cannon, 85, passed away on March 2, 2015, at the Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born on June 6, 1929, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Linus B. and Inez (Haines) Billings.
    Alice worked for over 25 years at New England Telephone Company as a telephone operator and was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers. She attended the United Baptist Church of Dover-Foxcroft.
    She is survived by her sons, Stephen Cannon and his wife, Sharon, from Eastport, ME, Joseph Cannon, Jr., and his wife, Janet, from Hudson, ME, Peter Cannon and his wife, Susan, from Atkinson, ME; a daughter, Susan Robinson and her husband, Francis, from Dover-Foxcroft, ME; brother, Linas Billings and his wife, Shirley, from Eagle Lake, ME; sisters, Avis Chapman from Caribou, ME, and Alberta Viel from Mapleton; a special friend, Frances Strout from Dover-Foxcroft; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. Cannon; son, James A. Cannon; and sisters, Dorothy Kinney, Shirley Rodgers and Betty Voisine.
    There will be a graveside service in the spring at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle.
