Patricia A. (Coffin) Gallagher

    GALLAGHER, Patricia A. (Coffin), 68, PRESQUE ISLE, February 25, 2015. No visiting hours or funeral services are planned for this time. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – On February 25, 2015, a beautiful light went out of the world. Patricia A. (Coffin) Gallagher died on that date at the Aroostook Medical Center, at the age of 68.
    She leaves behind her husband, Guy Gallagher; one son, Tristan Gallagher and his wife, Michelle Souliere; a sister, Jane Morrison and her husband, Richard. She is also survived by much loved brothers- and sisters-in-law; several cousins; and a close friend, Sarah Shields.
    Patty was predeceased by her brother, Thomas.
    Patty was born in Ashland on May 22, 1946, to Robert and Fern (Snowman) Coffin.
    She attended Ashland High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Maine in Presque Isle. She held a Master’s in Education from the University of Maine at Orono. Patty taught at the Opal Myrick Elementary school in East Millinocket, Helen P. Knight school in Caribou, Goudville and Pine Street schools in Presque Isle, and Aroostook Academy also in Presque Isle.
    Patty faced a number of serious health issues over her lifetime and courageously and humbly and with dignity accepted all the attendant effects. She created a bright presence in the lives of those around her.
    Patty cherished her time teaching and is fondly remembered by many of her pupils.
