Why do we appreciate our veterans?

Our veterans are our friends, family, neighbors, and heroes. “A hero is someone who is admired or idolized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities” and that is what every veteran is. They have done, see, and experienced things that people wouldn’t normally go throughout their lives.

I think a veteran is someone who fought for our country so we can have freedom and so they can have freedom. Veterans are people who want to have freedom so people don’t get told what they can and can’t do. A veteran is also someone who used to fight in a war because they fought for what they believe in.
I think a veteran would want to fight in a war because it is helping our nation fight for what we believe in like freedom, justice, and peace — three very important things that every American wants. They also fought in a war or wars because they want Americans to have rights and a say in what happens in our country. I think they also did this because if it weren’t for them we wouldn’t be able to do things we do today.
I think our veterans served in the army because they felt the need to stand up for what they believe in and so they can make a difference in the world. They also want to fight for what they believe in. They also probably want to make the world a better place.
My grandfather and great-grandfather both served in the army. They both wanted to serve in the army because they wanted freedom, justice, and peace. But they also served in the army at one point because they wanted to protect their family, friends, and also the American citizens. I am happy and proud to not only call them my grandfathers but to also call them my heroes. Without their help we wouldn’t be where we are today, a free country.
