Castle Hill Grange Hall update
In 2014, the Castle Hill Grange Hall Preservation Society, through fundraising and donations, was able to cover all of its annual expenses and replace the underside of the porch and rotted sills. All of the Society’s fund-raiser cookbooks have been sold, and they are still in the midst of the annual candy bar fundraiser.
Help is still needed to keep the Society active and to keep the hall open. A working membership is $10 per year or $15 per non-working membership. Lifetime memberships are $100 or $150 lifetime membership for spouses. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of the month from February through November. Currently, the Society has only seven working members. Any help that can be provided through volunteering or financial support would be greatly appreciated.
Recently, Maylen and Judy Kenney joined as lifetime members and were recognized and thanked by the Society. Those community members and businesses that also donated funds and goods to help keep the hall operating are also appreciated.
Looking ahead to the coming year, the group hopes to complete several projects including repairing the floor in the cellar, repairing the basement stairs, replacing the door latch on the front door, and posting a new bulletin board on the outside of the building.
It has been suggested that when community members are considering where to donate their extra time and/or funds to please consider the Castle Hill Grange Hall Preservation Society.
