Husson players garner honors
BANGOR, Maine — Husson University women’s basketball student-athletes Victoria McIntyre and Chandler Guerrette have been named to the All-North Atlantic Conference second team.
McIntyre, a junior guard from Mars Hill, ranked second in the team and 11th in the league with 10.7 points per game. She was third in the conference with an 80.4 free throw percentage and 14th with 1.4 steals per game. McIntyre’s 6.2 rebounds per game were 15th in the conference.
McIntyre is a 2012 graduate of Central Aroostook High School.
Guerrette, a sophomore guard from Presque Isle, led the Eagles and was sixth in the NAC with 12.8 points per game. She was eighth with 1.9 steals per game and seventh with a 74.5 percent free-throw percentage. Guerrette was also a second team selection last season as well as the NAC Rookie of the Year.
Guerrette graduated from Presque Isle High School in 2013, leading the Wildcats to a pair of state titles. She was a Miss Basketball finalist her senior year.
The Eagles finished the regular season 17-8 overall and 15-3 in conference play to earn the second seed. They lost to New England College, 63-48, in the semifinal round played at Castleton, Vt. Feb. 27.
