First of its kind in Aroostook County
SHERRI CALHOUN, the music and chorus director at Mapleton Elementary School, coordinated with area schools to have a day of music at Mapleton Elementary. Fifth-grade musicians from Limestone, Washburn, Ashland, and SAD 1 came together Friday, March 13 for the day.

Sectional classes were run by Theresa Harold, Jenna Simonoff, Sean Diette, Paul LaPointe, Jon Simonoff and Dan Schneider, all local directors. The group ended the day performing for the Mapleton third-, fourth- and fifth-graders as a combined band, directed by Larry Hall. Ninety-eight students participated in this event, the first of its kind in Aroostook County.
