Three health care providers join TAMC

PRESQUE ISLE — The outmigration of Aroostook County’s young professionals is a problem area businesses have faced for many years. Fortunately, young, educated people are returning to The County every day, and TAMC is thrilled to have three such professionals join its staff.

Glenda Dwyer, vice president of TAMC’s Medical Group, works diligently with her staff to assist County residents with medical degrees in returning to their roots.
“TAMC is always excited to hire and help a County health care provider return home,” said Dwyer. “They know the lifestyle and needs of our communities best.”
Heather Bresett, FNP, recently joined the team at TAMC’s North Street Family Practice & Internal Medicine. Bresett grew up in Van Buren and worked at TAMC as a nurse after she earned her bachelor’s of science in nursing from the University of Southern Maine. Recently, she completed her master’s of science in nursing from the University of Maine at Orono.
“After working as a nurse for a few months, I realized I wanted to be the person behind the assessments and diagnosis of my patients,” said Bresett. “I find that I am able to impact my patients’ progress in a more long-term way as a primary care provider.”
Another addition to TAMC is Amanda Buzzell, PA-C, who is working at TAMC’s Walk-In Care at North Street. Originally from Caribou, she moved away to pursue her education only to realize that The County is where she wanted to be. Buzzell graduated cum laude from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a bachelor of arts degree in biology. She then went on to complete a master’s in physician assistant studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physicians Assistants. Buzzell is also a member of the TAMC Green Team, working together with colleagues to promote a more environmentally friendly health care approach.
“I grew up with a very supportive family,” said Buzzell. “I am very lucky to have been able to return home and have a career doing what I enjoy.”
Janna Clukey, RN, CNM, WHNP, previously worked at TAMC as a registered nurse, but has recently joined TAMC’s OB/GYN/Midwifery Services. She earned her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Husson University and her master’s of science in nursing from Georgetown University. Having trained as both a certified nurse midwife and a women’s health nurse practitioner, Clukey has a broad range of clinical experiences.
“I am very happy to be working alongside such talented providers as Joyce Hebert, MD, Quang Nguyen, MD, Rachel Swartz, MD, Mary Hamilton, CNM, and Nancy Escobar, CNM,” said Clukey.
These new providers join a well-rounded team of professionals that provide expert care to residents of northern Maine. For more information about providers at TAMC, go to tamc.org or call the physician referral line at 768-4186.
