Driver injured in collision with moose
A Greenville woman was injured Sunday when her vehicle struck a moose as she traveled along Route 11, south of Masardis.
“At approximately 2:53 p.m. on April 5, 2015, Sgt. Alden Bustard responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 11 in T9 R5. His investigation found that Olivia Bouchard, 19, of Greenville, was traveling north when a moose entered the roadway and Bouchard was unable to avoid hitting the moose,” said Sgt. Brian Harris, of the Maine State Police.
According to Harris, Bouchard struck the moose, sending the animal over Bouchard’s hood and through the windshield.
“Bouchard sustained numerous cuts from the glass and was transported to The Aroostook Medical Center via Ashland Ambulance for treatment of her injuries,” said Harris.
Bouchard’s 2000 Subaru Legacy sustained significant front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
