ASHLAND NEWS

The Ashland Area PTO and district school students are in the last leg of their Box Tops and Campbell’s Labels drive.

Continue to clip your box tops and labels and send them in to the school (with a student) or drop them off.
If the student goal of 20,000 is met, the Ashland Area PTO will be hosting an exciting show with a highly acclaimed national performer on the evening of May 1. The show will be open to the public, but the kids need everyone’s help collecting the box tops and labels to reach their goal.

Historical Society looking for school memorabilia

The Portage Lake Historical Society (PLHS) is planning to turn the voting room at the Town Hall into a “mini museum” this summer with the theme centered on the Portage Lake School System.
The PLHS is looking for any and all items relating to the school system: everything from class photos, report cards, certificates of any kind, written memories, desks, books, tablets, projects, awards, etc.
The museum will be open to the public during Town Hall operating hours with visitors being allowed to tour the museum freely at their leisure. Anyone with items may drop them off at the Portage Lake Town Office during business hours. Clearly label the item with the owner’s name and contact information. If possible, please identify the people in photos, the dates and/or a description of what the item is.
For more information, please contact Corrine Routhier at townofportage.treasurer@gmail.com.
