We love our Moms
REMEMBER WHEN

I think if you were to ask any child between the ages of 4 and 12, “Who is your most favorite person in the whole world?”, nine times out of 10 you would receive, “My Mommy!” as their answer. Dad is always the hero but Mom is the go-to person to get things done.
Like the time I brought my friend Don and his brother Brent home at lunchtime and announced that I had invited them to eat with us. Tuna sandwiches … no problem. I heard about it later and was asked to please ask first, then invite!
Mom was the one who sat up with us when we were ill in the night or had a case of the boogie men under the bed. It seems like mom could fix anything from a lost button to the seat of your favorite jeans that ripped out when you were catching for the Little League team.
Mom made the best box lunches for harvest time when we were picking potatoes. Mom washed and ironed our clothes and made sure the refrigerator was stocked as well as the pantry.
Let us not forget the time when we went to boot camp for our chosen branch of service and how when we went to our duty station and there was a possibility we would be in harm’s way, she told us to stay safe and please come home. Then there was the box of cookies we got to share with our fellow servicemen and how they raved about the best cookies they ever had.
All that being said, I think I can speak for hundreds of men from 20 to 60 years of age when we say “Thank you Mom for all you have ever done for me.” We love our Moms and hope they enjoy their special day on Sunday, May 10th.
