Murphy honored
FLORIST RECOGNIZED — Amy Murphy, a Maine master floral designer and owner of Amy’s Flowers in Presque Isle, took top honors in the Table Top Design segment at the Maine Florist Association’s annual spring show in Orono, held April 11-12.

Her design featured native pussywillows, birch bark and fiddleheads. Eleven floral designers competed in the category. Murphy was also the featured designer for the design panel, and taught a hands-on class entitled “Gen-X Prom & Body Flowers” to other florists in attendance. The class introduced participants to the latest trends in floral designs and prom arrangements. Amy’s Flowers is located at 54 North St., next to Bradley’s C-Store.
