MMG head to address PIHS graduates

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Ben Greenlaw, Presque Isle High School principal, recently announced that Larry Shaw, chief executive officer of MMG Insurance Company, will offer the keynote address at this year’s commencement.
The 2015 ceremony is set for Friday, June 12 at 7 p.m. in the Presque Isle High School gymnasium. A ticket is required.
“We are honored to have Mr. Shaw as the keynote speaker at the Presque Isle High School Class of 2015 commencement, Greenlaw said. “MMG means so much to our region, and I am sure he will have a message that our students will benefit from.”
Shaw began his career with MMG in 1982 and has served as CEO since 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and a master of science degree in business from Husson College. He has also attended the Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School.

Shaw is also active in the community, presently serving as the board chair of Aroostook Partnership for Progress, a board member of Maine Early Learning Investment Group, and serves on the executive committee of the UMPI Foundation, the Investment Committee at TAMC, and the Mark & Emily Turner Foundation.
He is past chair of the Maine Development Corporation and served on Anthem’s Advisory Group.
He resides in Presque Isle with his wife, Taffy, and their three sons, Nick, Brennen and Connor, all graduates of Presque Isle High School.
