Cookie sale helps babies
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A limited-run cookie sale will benefit newborn and pediatric health at The Aroostook Medical Center.
Tim Hortons locations in Presque Isle, Carbou and Madawaska are running a “Smile Cookie” campaign now through this Saturday, June 20. Cookies, decorated with icing smiles, are $1 each and proceeds will support special purposes to keep the smallest patients healthy.
Funds will enable TAMC to purchase of a bilirubin blanket, a portable phototherapy device used to treat babies with jaundice, that parents can take home, and a Panda Warmer unit, newer technology used to keep newborns healthy, hospital officials said.
Smile cookies will also be sold to passengers on Saturday’s special rail excursions.
