Time capsule reveals no contents

EASTON NEWS

by Hillary Hallett

Easton Elementary students in grades 4, 5 and 6 recently located the remains of a time capsule believed to be buried in 1979 or 1980 in an “Aroostook Farms” milk crate.

The capsule was from the first kindergarten classes that attend the newly-built school in 1979, but unfortunately the box was empty. In honor of this tradition and celebrating Easton’s 150th birthday, the students will be placing a new time capsule to be unveiled in 2065 — 50 years from now at the 200th birthday of the Town of Easton. Thanks to Fire Chief Kim White and custodian Adam Perkins for their assistance in this project.
