Among the many activities to be enjoyed during the 2015 Ashland Summer Fest, be sure to see the Quilt Show at the Ashland Advent Christian Church on Friday July 3 from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday July 4 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The quilting handiwork of our area quilters will be on display. Few things are more appreciated than wrapping up in a quilt on a cold evening. Quilts are beautiful works of art that can be hung on a wall or spread over a bed. But more importantly, they tell a story. The quilts on exhibit celebrate and and tell many stories of births, weddings, family reunions and commemorate people and places. Each quilt on display will be accompanied by information about the quilter and tell the quilts ‘story’.
One of the highlights of the quilt show will be a quilt created by Elaine Dempster to honor Larry Hall’s many contributions to the Ashland community. Visitors to the show will have the opportunity to view this very special quilt and read the story of it’s creation along with leaving a written message to Hall.
On Sunday July 5 at 2 p.m., the Ashland District School Auditorium will be dedicated in honor of Larry Hall, an Ashland educator who has made a huge impact on the musical program in the Ashland area. Following the ceremony, the Just Folk Singers, directed by Hall, will present a concert.
