BUNBURY, WESTERN AUSTRALIA & PRESQUE ISLE, ME – Kyle Edward Hendrickson, age 29, died after a long, courageous battle with leukemia in Bunbury Hospital on June 30, 2015, in Bunbury, Western Australia. Kyle was born on July 29, 1985, in Presque Isle, to Elaine and Eric Hendrickson.
He graduated from Presque Isle High School in 2003, then went on to the University of Maine Orono graduating in 2008 with a degree in Civil Engineering. After coming to Bunbury, Western Australia, under a working holiday visa, Kyle commenced working with NRW Mining Contractors as a Civil Project Engineer. He later gained employment with Watpac Civil and Mining, Fly in Fly out to regional Western Australia. Following this, Kyle was employed through Jonor Construction, working on bridges in the southwest region of Western Australia.
Kyle was accomplished as a civil engineer loving the aspect of problem solving. He was a generous individual who loved the outdoors, always willing to introduce others to skiing, hiking or exploring. He was passionate about brewing beer, gardening, reading and spending time with his family and friends.
He and his wife, Lauren, of two years loved to travel.
His maternal grandmother and grandfather, Ruth and Wayne Webber and his paternal grandmother, Effie Hend-
rickson, predeceased Kyle.
Surviving, besides his parents, Eric and Elaine Hendrickson of Presque Isle, are his wife, Lauren Hendrickson (Oberski) of Eaton, Western Australia; his mother-in-law, Annette Oberski of Bunbury, Western Australia; his sister, Melissa Hendrickson and her husband, Kevin Casey of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; his paternal grandfather, Edward Hendrickson of Brewer, ME; and a special aunt, Ellen Hendrickson and her husband, Jon Benoist of Park City, Utah.
Services were held on July 4, 2015, in Bunbury, Western Australia. Kyle wanted all of his friends and family to celebrate his life by enjoying a pint of beer! Donations may be made in his honor to Big Rock Mountain in Mars Hill or to the Mark and Emily Turner Library in Presque Isle.
