Savings bank selects scholars

Machias Savings Bank is pleased to announce the recipients of their 2015 High School Scholarships. This year the financial institution awarded 13 high school students who have plans to continue their education and who reside in the bank’s market areas with a one-time $500 scholarship.

Machias Savings Bank’s goal is to promote leadership skills, participation in area communities, time-management skills, and the desire to continue education. Through this scholarship, this goal is being reached. The 13 students chosen for this scholarship demonstrate these qualities and have maintained a high scholastic performance while being active in either their schools or community.
Four students from Aroostook County were among those named. Scholarships were awarded to Danielle Provost of Houlton High School, who is planning to study political science/public relations; Chelsea Winiarski of East Grand High School, who will study business administration; Dylan Ouellette of Presque Isle High School, who is entering the study of industrial design; and Kendra Coffin of Caribou High School, who will further her education in nursing.
