NMCC to host wind energy training event
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Northern Maine Community College (NMCC) will host Recharge Labs, a small Minneapolis-based business dedicated to renewable energy education, on July 27 in their Wind Power Lab.
This free training session will provide Aroostook County educators with standards-aligned knowledge and tools to help their students build connections between STEAM – science, technology, engineering, art and math—and the social and environmental benefits and issues relating to wind and solar energy.
“The KidWind/Recharge event enables County middle school and high school teachers to see what information and activities are available to help them with teaching alternative energy topics to their students, especially wind,” said Wayne Kilcollins, NMCC wind power technology instructor. “The teachers will also see how the information fits with the STEAM curriculum.”
