The West Chapman Advent Christian Church will host its picnic on Saturday, July 25, 2015 beginning at 3 p.m. with games and a time for visiting.

Ladies retreat

Tax rate update
The three towns set their mil rates last week for the 2015 tax bills, according to Town Manager Jon Frederick.
“Thanks to the school tax levy increase being relatively small compared to past years, the towns were able to either decrease or level their tax rate,” Frederick said. “Mapleton’s mil rate is 14.8 (14.9 in 2014), Castle Hill’s is 14.6 (same as 2014) and Chapman’s is 13.8 (14.0 in 2014). Tax bills will be mailed on July 31 and the one percent early tax payment discount will end on Aug. 24.”
The town office will run an eight-week trial with a change of office hours to conduct town business to those whose work hours coincide with the office hours. Beginning Monday, Aug. 10, the town office will be open from 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7 a.m. through 11 a.m. on Friday. Your feedback during this trial period would be appreciated.
