Shaw named to Maine Business Hall of Fame
A Presque Isle business leader is among three who will be inducted into the first annual Junior Achievement of Maine Business Hall of Fame North later this year.
Larry Shaw, president and CEO of MMG Insurance in Presque Isle, has been named a Hall of Fame laureate for 2015. Also named were Joseph H. Cyr, president of John T. Cyr and Sons of Old Town, and Edward L. Hennessey Jr., chairman of the board for Machias Savings Bank.
Since 1990, Junior Achievement of Maine’s Business Hall of Fame has honored the state’s most distinguished businessmen and women for their outstanding contributions to free enterprise and the promise of a better, stronger society. This year marks the 27th anniversary of the event, which takes place in South Portland, but will be the very first for the Hall of Fame North, to be held in Bangor celebrating laureates in Eastern, Central and Northern Maine.
Junior Achievement officials called Shaw, Cyr and Hennessey “exceptional business leaders.” The three honorees join a distinguished group of 76 men and women who have been inducted into the Maine Business Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony will take place at 5:30pm on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Bangor Hilton Garden Inn. For more information, visit jamaine.org.
