Report: Mother who kidnapped child
arrested in Presque Isle
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A mother from Michigan allegedly abducted her young daughter amid a custody dispute and fled to Aroostook County before being found by local police.
Seven-year-old Kylie Grace Charles was set to head back to Mattawan, Michigan, from Presque Isle with parts of her extended family Sunday, reported Fox 17 Western Michigan.
The young girl was missing for eight weeks and was allegedly kidnapped by her mother, Sandra Charles, in the wake of a divorce with her father, who was awarded custody.
Charles reportedly was arrested on charges of parental kidnapping and is set to be sent back to Michigan.
Michigan authorities dropped the charges and she was released from Aroostook County Jail.
