BARD, Leo James, 81, PRESQUE ISLE, at Bangor, August 20, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, August 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Leo James Bard, 81, passed away unexpectedly in Bangor on August 20, 2015. He was born in Sinclair, a son of Patrick and Eva (Albert) Bard.
Leo drove truck for Coles Express for over 30 years. He went on to drive the MRI mobile unit for NEHE for over 18 years. He also played in a band called “The County Five” with his buddies on weekends for special occasions. Since his retirement and moving to Florida, he has enjoyed entertaining and jamming with his friends with his musical talents.
Leo is survived by his wife, Marcella Bard; his sons and their wives, Leo and Debra Bard Jr., Jerry and Sharon Bard, and Tim and Lori Bard; his daughter-in-law, Andrea Bard Smith; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his siblings, Richard Bard, Clinton Bard, Gerard Bard, Albert and his wife, Barbara Bard, Arthur and his wife, Thala Bard, Billy and his wife, Norma Bard, Theresa and Norman Hallowell, and Bernadette and Val Paradis. He had a special place in his heart for all his nieces and nephews especially Carol, Mary, Linda, Steve and Cindy, who he thought of as his own children.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Stephen in 1983; two brothers, Patrick and Wilfred; and his sisters, Bernice, Helen, Florence and Albertine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will he held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at the Parish of the Precious Blood St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle. A reception will follow services at the K of C building.
