UMPI grad releases book
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wendy Koenig, graduate of the University of Maine at Presque Isle and local author, had her book, “Sentient,” released from publisher Lands Atlantic earlier this month.
A young adult science fiction novel, the book is based on an uninhabited planet nicknamed Colossus. Seventeen-year-old Palamourah de la Croix, a female cadet marshal, and her team embark on a routine escort mission. They are attacked by their own machines as well as a deadly virus. Over two-thirds of her team, including her boyfriend, are killed.
Struggling with the betrayal of those she trusted, Pala must keep charge of the mission and discover the truth behind it while she saves two planets, Colossus and Earth.
Koenig, who lives in New Brunswick, graduated from UMPI in 2006. She has authored and co-authored numerous books. Several of her novels and short stories have won international awards and have appeared in multiple venues. For more information visit her website, wendylkoenig.com.
