Harry’s for all your outdoor fun

Harry’s Motorsports and Equipment, 640 Main St., Presque Isle, is the place to go for outdoor fun.

“We have a motto: If we don’t have it, you don’t need it,” said John Alexander, who’s co-owned Harry’s with his wife, Debbie Alexander, since 2003.
“We sell and service Honda ATVs, side-by-sides and motorcycles; Honda power equipment; Kawasaki ATVs and side-by-sides; Arctic Cat ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles; Kymco ATVs, side-by-sides and scooters; Kubota tractors, mowers and all related three-point hitch implements and equipment,” said Alexander. “We’re very diversified in the different varieties of products we sell.”
The company has nine full-time employees.
“I’ve been in retail sales for 36 years. A huge percentage of business is repeat customers. I take care of my customers after the sale. I tell my sales people ‘Treat customers like family and they’ll come back and buy more and more products from you.’ With the variety of products we sell, this works extremely well,” Alexander said.
“With the variety of products we sell, we’re aggressive on pricing. I’m downstate weekly delivering. For instance, we had a customer call about an ad in ‘Uncle Henry’s’ and asked if we had made a mistake in our ad because he’d gone to three different Kubota tractor dealers — each said they couldn’t sell one for that advertised price. We told him it wasn’t a mistake; we delivered the Kubota to Farmington and delivered one to Dover-Foxcroft the same day. We made money and the customers are extremely happy,” said Alexander.
Side-by-side business is very good right now.
“Honda has three new products: the Pioneer line of side-by-sides, 500cc, 700cc and the all-new 1,000cc. Each is extremely well-priced, starting at $9,100. Also, Kawasaki released the Mule FXT Pro side-by-side. It’s a three-passenger that transforms to a six-passenger in less than 30 seconds. It has an 820cc engine, top speed of 47 mph and independent suspension, front and rear — rides better than a car. Stop by for a test drive, you’ll be impressed,” Alexander said.
    Business hours: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays, 8-3.
