EAS test is today
A statewide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at 2:20 p.m., lasting for about one minute.
The test will be conducted in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island and will verify that participating radio, TV, and cable systems are able to receive and broadcast a national periodic test code.
The test will help ensure that communication channels are ready to deliver emergency alerts and warnings.
