A flock of pink flamingos has been moving around Washburn for the past couple of weeks. If you haven’t driven through Washburn lately to see the flock, imagine 50 pink plastic flamingos all flocked together on someone’s lawn.
This is the latest and very creative fundraiser being put on by Washburn’s class of 2016 Project Graduation. For just $35 you can support the seniors by having your friend or neighbor in Washburn “flocked,” and have 50 pink flamingos appear on their lawn, or you can have half the flock appear for $20.
The flocking can be done with your name on it or it can be done anonymously. Simply contact any Washburn senior or Julie Doody at 227-5239.
The class is raising money for their senior trip, for which they are hoping to go to Xtreme Adventures in Brewer.
Historical Society Meeting
The Salmon Brook Historical Society will hold a potluck supper and business meeting on Oct. 15, 2015 at the Civic Center at 6:00 pm.
