Bernard places in top 10 at state golf championship
VASSALBORO, Maine — Four local golfers took part in Saturday’s Maine High School Individual Championships at Natanis Golf Club in Vassalboro, with Fort Fairfield’s Jon Bernard coming through with the top performance of the group.
Bernard, a junior, shot an 86 and placed in a tie for ninth place for Class C golfers.
Junior Hunter Flynn of Presque Isle carded a 90 and was 27th among Class B participants.
On the girls’ side, Fort Fairfield sophomore twin sisters Sara and Sadie Edgecomb played and came in with scores of 109 and 111 and were 36th and 37th, respectively.
