PRESQUE ISLE, ME — The Presque Isle Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) held their annual harvest supper and auction Oct. 22 at the Presque Isle High School cafeteria, raising in excess of $2,000 for their annual convention.

Including the 33 members, 150 people attended. Mark Kelley and Mike Gallagher catered the turkey dinner. Tony Sullivan from Governor’s Restaurant donated the rolls and some of the pumpkin pies. FBLA mothers donated either pumpkin or apple pies to go along with vanilla ice cream. The soda and water bottles were donated by Pepsi Company.
Tom Drew of Woodland was the auctioneer, who kept the crowd laughing and bidding at the same time. Total sales from the auction were $2,108.50. The money from this event will help students pay for their registration costs for convention, which will be held in Portland March 13 – 15, 2016.
Cook’s Florist donated a centerpiece for the occasion. Marla Williamson was the lucky winner who had her name drawn from many tickets. Several people brought used coats/jackets to be used for the community service project and had a chance to win the raffle item.
The 50/50 raffle event was won by Kelly McHatten, who generously donated her half back to the club.
Area businesses and individuals donated items for the auction, and the FBLA expressed thanks to the following: Amanda Blade, Amy’s Flowers, Anne Hemphill, Ben’s Trading Post, Connie Driscoll, Cook’s Florist, Cushman’s Embroidery, Dead River, Dr. Ford, Farm Credit, Goughan Farms, Governor’s Restaurant, Heads Up Hairstyling, Kathy Sweeney, Maine Potato Board, Marie Cash, Mary Trainer, McCains, Mike Graves, MMG, Morningstar Art and Framing, Myrtle Tree, Northeast Packaging Co., Northern Athletics, Pancsofar’s Bridal Shop, Pat’s Pizza, Pepsi, PIHS Athletic Department, Shear Delight, Staples Farms, Star City IGA, Studio Looks, Subway, The Hair Affair, Theriault Equipment, Tractor Supply, Troy Nichols, Whited Ford Truck Center and Wilder’s Jewelry Store.
