ASHLAND – Bonnie Lee Page, 62, died peacefully Thursday, November 12, 2015, at a Houlton healthcare facility following a long illness. She was born January 16, 1953, in Sacramento, CA, a daughter of the late Lewis and Lajuean (McConnell) Prue, and graduated from Ashland Community High School in 1971.
Bonnie worked as a clerk for Maine State Liquor Store in Ashland and Presque Isle for many years. She was also employed by SAD #32 as an educational technician for a period of time. Bonnie enjoyed working with students in the classroom and on the gym floor where she coached cheerleaders. As a young woman, Bonnie actively participated in the local chapter of Rebekkahs, the local snowmobile club, and the Ladies Auxillary. Camping with friends, hosting family gatherings, and supporting her children were highlights in Bonnie’s life. At home, Bonnie enjoyed reading mystery novels and caring for her cat, Noel. Bonnie’s true ambition was to be a mother. She cherished many memorable moments shared with her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mahlon “Moe” Page; two children, Teri-Lyn Driscoll and her husband, Chuck, and Jason Page and fiancée, Shara Gardner, all of Ashland; three brothers, Norman Prue and his wife, Kathy of Wichita, KS, Lewis Prue and his wife, Patricia of Fort Fairfield, and Dennis Prue of Caribou; four grandchildren, Micayla and Dane Driscoll, and Cassidy and Abigail Page; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, with Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday from 11 a.m., until the time service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
