Former CA standout gets Easton hoop post
EASTON, Maine — Easton High School Athletic Director Steve Shaw has announced that Manny Martinez will be the new Bears boys’ basketball coach as approved by Easton’s school board.
Martinez is a former standout athlete at CAHS and had the game-winning basket at the buzzer when the Panthers beat Richmond in the 2008 Class D state finals. He has spent the last few years in California, doing some sub-varsity coaching along the way, and is now attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
“He will bring, knowledge, passion and excitement to our boys’ basketball program,” Shaw said.
He takes over for Dillon Kingsbury, who accepted the varsity boys’ basketball job at Houlton High School.
