Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Nov. 24 at the Aroostook Health Center. Rotarian Pam Townsend spoke to the group about her position as President of the Maine Agri-Women. She helped organize and facilitate the recent 40th annual American Agri-Women Convention in Portland, held Nov. 5-7, and saw around 150 women attend from around the United States.
The group held committee meetings, had special speakers and enjoyed a tour of Pineland Farms in New Gloucester and their equestrian center, cheese making facility and hydroponics greenhouse.
Sen. Susan Collins’s letter in the convention pamphlet commends the organization’s “efforts to inform the public and policy-makers about the importance of American agriculture.”
Event sign
The Mars Hill Rotary Club will be adding another plaque in front of the Town Office sign.
Anyone wishing to add a name in honor of or in memory of a family member or loved one, please contact Rena Kearney at 429-9041 or Kathy Miller at 540-6325. The cost is $100 a couple or person. It is a great way to remember someone. Proceeds will go toward the Mars Hill Rotary Scholarships.
